Here are some questions that we get asked frequently.

-Does it hurt?  Everyone finds it different, it really depends on how high your pain threshold is! Some people find it a similar pain to waxing or think it feels scratchy. Most people find it a lot better than they expect. Although if you are having a long session it can get a little sore after a while so don't book up a long sitting without knowing that you can handle it for that long.

-How much does it cost?  That completely depends on your design and sometimes where you are having it on your body, we usually price tattoos on how long they will take to do, based on our hourly rate. we also have a minimum charge to cover the cost of the needles/ink/etc.

-Do i need to book?  If you want to get your tattoo done on a particular day, we do advise booking, because some days we will be fully booked in advance, and although we will always try to have someone available to do walk-ins we wont always have spaces. Some days/times a a lot busier than others, because of people having similar working weeks.

-Can i bring in my own design? We welcome customers to bring in their own designs but usually you will need to bring the design to us before you want to get it done so we can give you a price and make sure that its appropriate to tattoo.

-Will you help me find a design? We will help as much as we can to get the right tattoo for you, If you want a custom tattoo designed for you, you will need to have a good idea of what you want before we can design it for you, also if you have any reference for your idea, its good to bring that with you. Most larger tattoos like sleeves or back pieces will need to be drawn up for you as a custom piece anyway as it will have to fit the size and shape of your body. We don't charge extra for drawing something for you but we will take a deposit from you before we start drawing it for you, which will be deducted from the cost of your tattoo when you get it done.

-How do i look after my tattoo? When you get tattooed we will give you aftercare advise and make sure you understand it. Once your tattoo is healed, your tattoo doesn't need a lot of care, Sun can fade your tattoos over the years, especially if you get sun burnt often, to prolong the brightness of your tattoo use a normal sun block on your tattoo when in strong sun. Also repeated sun bed use can also affect your tattoo. Cuts or scars through your tattoo can sometimes leave a mark, some times they can be tattooed over again, depending on the severity of the scar. Your tattoos will always look best when kept moisturize as dry skin can also make the tattoo look duller.

-Do you do temporary tattoo's? We don't do temporary tattoos, although we have heard of shorter term tattoos that are supposed to fade slowly over time, in our experience this is rarely the case, and people can be left with parts of the tattoo left behind for good. Also these temporary tattoos are often applied by non-tattooists, and therefore are generally not very well executed. Even if a tattoo is going to disappear in 5 years time, that is still a very long time to have a bad tattoo for! If you are serious about getting a tattoo, make sure you choose your design carefully without rushing into things and find the right artist for you, having looked at their portfolio and making sure you like the standard of their work, then you will be sure to be happy to wear your tattoo forever!
